As confidence soared, the pair brought up a well-constructed 50-run stand. Mooney, exuding class, anchored the innings with exquisite placement and timing. Her footwork against spin was sublime, seamlessly piercing gaps to find regular boundaries. She raced to her second fifty of the season—her fifth in the league—highlighting her command at the crease. Harleen, too, found rhythm, executing crisp strokes and running hard between the wickets.
However, just as she neared her half-century, Sophie Ecclestone, WPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker, produced a moment of brilliance to castle Harleen, ending a 101-run stand. Yet, Mooney remained unfazed, unfurling a hat-trick of boundaries off Kranti Goud and dictating terms.
