Georgia Voll stole the show with a record-breaking unbeaten 99 off 56 balls—the highest individual score in tournament history which was responded well by RCB with Richa Ghosh’s fighting (69 off 33) and contributions from the lower order to give an epic on the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day.

RCB fought hard but fell short in a game that saw momentum swing throughout. Despite bowing out, UPW gave their fans a night to remember, while the defending champions endured a disappointing finish losing 5 in a row. The match was a fitting celebration of Women’s Day, delivering pure entertainment and edge-of-the-seat action.

Thanks to Player of the Match, Georgia Voll who put on a dominating (99* off 56) backed with contributions from Grace Harris (39 off 22) , Kiran Navgire (46 off 16), UPW put on a mammoth 225/5 which is now also the highest total in TATA WPL history.

Batting first with nothing to lose after their elimination from the TATA WPL 2025, UPW openers Grace Harris and Georgia Voll came out all guns blazing. Harris set the tone with a boundary off the first ball and followed it up with a towering six over long-on against Renuka Singh. She then took the attack to Kim Garth, dispatching her for three consecutive boundaries. Voll, in equally dominant form, picked up from where she left off in the previous game. When Smriti Mandhana turned to spin, Voll greeted Charlie Dean with a flurry of strokes, taking 14 runs off her over. The duo brought up a rapid fifty-run stand, propelling UPW to 67/0 in six overs.

RCB's bowlers had no answers as Harris and Voll kept the scoreboard ticking with boundaries at will. With UPW racing to 77/0 in seven overs, it took a moment of miscommunication to break the stand as Harris was run out for a scintillating 39 off 22 deliveries, bringing an end to an exhilarating opening partnership.

UPW’s batting masterclass continued as Georgia Voll anchored the innings with a knock of the highest pedigree. Even after Grace Harris’ departure, the run rate never dipped, thanks to Kiran Navgire’s explosive cameo. Clearing the ropes with ease, Navgire hammered five sixes and two fours in a breathtaking 46 off just 16 balls, ensuring UPW’s dominance in their final home game.

With Navgire’s fireworks setting the stage, Voll took charge of the finishing act. The in-form batter remained relentless, timing the ball beautifully and finding gaps at will. Supported by Chinelle Henry and Sophie Ecclestone, Voll never let the momentum slip. She finished agonizingly short of a historic hundred, remaining unbeaten on 99 off 56 deliveries, laced with 17 fours and a six. Her sublime knock powered UPW to a record-breaking 225/5—the highest team total in TATA WPL history. Voll’s innings also saw her equal the highest individual score in the tournament to Sophie Devine, capping off a stunning batting performance that left the home crowd in awe.

Chasing a daunting 226, RCB’s batters came out with intent, led by S. Meghana, who marked her first appearance of the season with a flurry of boundaries. She took 20 runs off the second over, setting an aggressive tone. However, UPW struck back as Chinelle Henry dismissed skipper Smriti Mandhana early, caught by Georgia Voll.

Ellyse Perry joined Meghana and immediately looked in sublime touch, reclaiming the Orange Cap. The duo took RCB to 70/2 in the Powerplay—the highest of the season. It was a fruitful partnership that kept RCB going in the chase. However, before it could flourish further, Sophie Ecclestone broke the stand, removing S. Meghana (27 off 12). Soon a crucial phase came when young Anjali Sarvani claimed her first wicket of the tournament, cleaning up the well-set Ellyse Perry (28 off 15), tilting the momentum in UPW’s favor.

With RCB reeling, Richa Ghosh stepped up, launching a counterattack. Mixing smart rotation with brute power, she raced to a scintillating second half-century off the season, keeping RCB in the hunt. Richa was clearing the fence with ease and looked to be in the mood tonight. As long as Richa was there, RCB was in the hunt. But just when her onslaught threatened to take the game away, Deepti Sharma struck, removing Richa for a well-made 69 off 33 balls including 6 fours and 5 sixes with a tactical move to use the longer side of the boundary in the 17th over.

Just as this seemed like a decisive blow for RCB, Sneh Rana reignited the defending champions’ hopes, smashing 27 runs in the penultimate over off UPW skipper Deepti Sharma that swung the pendulum again.

Much to add more thrills ton the match, Deepti managed to dismiss Sneh in the last ball off the 19th over leaving RCB to get 15 runs. But Georgia Voll, entrusted with the final over, held her nerve to sum up a dream day for her and UPW as they bowled out RCB for 213 and thus clinching a 12-run victory in home on their last home game.
