Deepti Sharma was signed by UP Warriorz for INR 2.6 crore at the first-ever WPL Auction, making her the second-most expensive Indian player after Smriti Mandhana. A wily spinner and a dependable all-rounder, she was UPW’s leading run-scorer in WPL 2024 with 295 runs and also the league’s 4th highest run-scorer. Deepti was also UPW’s second-highest wicket-taker in 2023 with 9 wickets. The star all-rounder was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament for her outstanding contributions with both bat and ball in the 2024 edition. Known for her composure under pressure, Deepti now takes on a new challenge as UP Warriorz captain in Alyssa Healy’s absence for WPL 2025, further solidifying her role as the team’s backbone.
