Devika Vaidya had a day to remember as the UP Warriorz broke the bank to acquire her services at INR 1.4 crore at the first-ever WPL auction. The Delhi Capitals and Warriorz were locked in a bidding war before the hammer went down in favour of UP. Devika adds the leg spin dimension to their strong spin department. She has the ability to out-think and deceive the batters with her flight and turn. She is also a handy middle and lower-middle order bat. The 25-year-old made her comeback to the national colours after eight years, in the home T20Is against Australia in 2022, on the back of consistent performances in the domestic circuit. Devika has been through lots of ups and downs in her career and come out stronger. She's scored 989 runs from 105 matches including three fifties in T20s. With the ball she's scalped 111 wickets and possesses an impressive economy rate of 5.26. She would be looking to set the stage on fire in the inaugural edition of the WPL.
