An explosive batter, a remarkable leader, and a role model for generations. The name is Harmanpreet Kaur. Born on March 08, 1989, the Indian all-rounder hails from Punjab. With her ferocious striking and an ability to clear the ropes with ease, it didn't take long for Harmanpreet to enter the spotlight and sparkle at the highest level. After making her T20 debut in 2009, Harmanpreet's cricketing career grew and evolved significantly. In November 2016, she was named the captain of the Indian T20I side for the series against West Indies. Amongst some of the best cricketing knocks of all time stands Harmanpreet Kaur's 171* off just 115 deliveries against Australia in the semifinal of the 2017 Women's World Cup. Kaur's spirited knock helped India reach the final of the tournament for the second time in history. The highly-experienced Indian all-rounder has played the most matches ever in Women's T20Is. In the inaugural WPL auction, it was the Mumbai Indians, who won the bidding war for Harmapreet Kaur as they got the all-rounder for a whopping INR 1.80 crore. She was soon announced as the captain of the Mumbai Indians squad. She led from the front, in the inaugural edition, finishing as MI's second-highest run-getter for the franchise and leading the side to the title. Her aggressive batting style and leadership skills make her a valuable asset of the team and Kaur will be looking to defend the title in the upcoming edition.
