Jess Jonassen was bought at the base price of INR 50 lakh by Delhi Capitals at the 2023 WPL auction. The left-arm spinner is an economical wicket-taking bowler who can make an impact at any stage of the game. The Australian spinner possesses a very good arm ball. She made an early impact in her international career, playing a crucial role in helping Australia beat England in the final of the 2012 ICC Women's World Twenty20, picking up 3/25 from four overs. The 31-year-old can contribute with the bat as well. She scored 99 and 54 on her Test debut in the 2015 Ashes and was named the Player of the Match. She has the joint-most number of consecutive four-wicket hauls in T20Is - 2. Jonassen brings with her a wealth of experience, having played five T20 and two 50-over World Cups. She's played over 200 international matches for Australia. She was Capitals' joint second-highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets in the inaugural edition.
