Laura Wolvaardt is a right-handed South African batter who plays in the top order. The swashbuckling batter who also captains the national team is known for her eye-catching shots and is in prime form currently. After originally going unsold in the auction in 2023, she was signed by Gujarat Giants as a replacement for captain Beth Mooney. She played four games in the first edition and scored two fifties. Having been retained, look out for her playing a bigger role in the second edition of TATA WPL. Wolvaardt also holds the record for being the youngest South African, male or female, to score a century in international cricket. In May 2017, she was named Women's Newcomer of the Year at CSA's annual awards.
