Parshavi Chopra was acquired for her base price of INR 10 lakh by UP Warriorz at the inaugural WPL auction. A leg-spinning all-rounder, Parshavi sprung into the limelight at the 2023 ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup, where she finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament (11 wickets from six innings) and played an important role in helping India clinch the title. Parshavi started off as a medium pacer but then switched to leg spin and was inspired by the legendary Shane Warne. Studying Warne's bowling closely has helped her develop variations in her bowling. And the flight, spin and googlies were on display at the Under-19 T20 World Cup. WPL is another huge learning curve for the 16-year-old.
