Tahlia McGrath was bought for INR 1.4 crore by the UP Warriorz at the inaugural WPL auction. It wasn't a surprise that McGrath sparked a bidding war with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals all interested in acquiring her services. But then came Warriorz out of nowhere and clinched the deal. McGrath is one of the best all-rounders at present. She's been a crucial part of all three formats for the Australian team. The 28-year-old super talented cricketer can bat in the top as well as middle order and hit the ball hard. A medium pacer, she can swing them, hit the deck hard, and also come up with clever variations. She's been on a roll, especially in the last few years. Her T20I career has gotten off to a blistering start. She was named the 2022 ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year. She is currently the No. 1 ranked batter in the ICC T20I rankings. She was the third-highest run-getter in the first edition of the WPL with 302 runs from 8 innings. Apart from her all-round skills, she also brings leadership qualities to the table and is touted as a future captaincy candidate for Australia.
