Vrinda Dinesh made it big at the TATA WPL 2024 Auction as she attracted a massive bid of INR 1.3 Crore from the UP Warriorz. Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz engaged in a bidding war in the auction before the hammer came down in favor of the UP Warriorz, making Dinesh the second-most expensive player at the 2024 Auction. An aggressive batter and a powerful striker of the ball, Dinesh sprung into the limelight when she scored a crucial 29-ball 36 on a challenging pitch against Bangladesh at the Asian Cricket Council Women's Emerging Teams Cup in Hong Kong and helped India win the trophy. A hard-hitting top-order batter, Vrinda Dinesh has performed consistently in the domestic circuit in the last few years for Karnataka. She was Karnataka's highest run-getter in the 2021-22 Women's Senior One Day Trophy with 348 runs from six matches and in the 2022-23 Senior Women's One Day Trophy with 477 runs from 11 matches. She impressed in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy 2023/24 with 211 runs from 7 innings at 35.17, scoring at a healthy strike rate of 154.01. She would be looking to make her mark in her debut WPL season.
